Qualifications

• BA/BS in a quantitative field with ≥5+ years of relevant experience or a PhD with ≥3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience driving impactful data science projects that tackle ambiguous problems.
• Ability to influence external stakeholders by synthesizing data learnings into compelling stories.
• Practical expertise applying complex modeling frameworks to business problems.
• Professional experience using SQL and Python.
• Experience working with digital products in an iterative development cycle.
• Demonstration of Coinbase core values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, efficient execution.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight for business-ready outputs and models.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis and deep dives on ambiguous problems; provide insights and recommendations.
• Build, tune, or measure the performance of online and offline ML models and AI systems.
• Own a broad scope of data and metrics, from definitions to visualizations.
• Guide code reviews, provide SQL and Python expertise, and create ETL jobs.
• Maintain a high bar for statistical rigor; design and run experiments and causal analyses.
