Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Data Scientist on the Data Team to advance data-driven product decisions. You will collaborate across Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success to interpret usage patterns and forecast trends, while mentoring teammates and delivering self-serve analytics.

You should have production experience with Data Science/ML, strong Python/Scala coding, and expertise in Spark/Hadoop, R, and Python for analysis.

Qualifications

• The candidate has production-grade experience applying data science and ML to business problems.
• Familiarity with product analytics including adoption and funnel analysis.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders from multiple business functions.
• Strong coding skills in Scala or Python and testing, reviews, deployment practices.
• Proficient data analysis and visualization using R and Python.

Responsibilities

• Shape the direction of key data science areas such as usage forecasting and product analytics.
• Work with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success to understand usage patterns and forecast trends.
• Manage stakeholders, gather requirements, define OKRs and milestones, report progress.
• Mentor data scientists with project planning and technical decisions.
• Build self-serve internal data products to simplify data access across Databricks.
