Job summary

BambooHR is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead production ML and advanced analytics on the Data & BI team. You will architect and productionize models, own a portion of the portfolio, and drive predictive analytics that inform go-to-market, operations, and product decisions.

You will collaborate with BI and Data Engineers, establish MLOps practices, and mentor the team while exploring agentic analytics and GenAI-powered approaches.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Data Science, ML engineering, or advanced analytics modeling.
• Experience designing and implementing complex ML systems at scale with ownership of models through lifecycle.
• Strong Python and SQL, with modern ML frameworks and Databricks or similar.
• Deep understanding of MLOps—experiment tracking, deployment, monitoring, retraining.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without authority.
• Excellent communication skills in explaining complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and productionize ML models and analytical systems at BambooHR.
• Own part of the portfolio, maintain and improve models, identify next high-impact use cases.
• Collaborate with BI Engineers and Data Engineers to embed ML into the data platform and go-to-market.
• Establish reusable methodologies and MLOps practices across teams.
• Mentor data scientists, analysts, and engineers through reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
• Stay current on emerging techniques and evaluate new tools and platforms.
• Forge strategic partnerships to align technical vision with business priorities.
