At MISO, the Senior Data Scientist – Market Evaluation will analyze large datasets to identify market trends, anomalies, and outcomes, and develop predictive analytics in collaboration with the Digital Technology team. The role emphasizes end-to-end data science, dashboards, and alerting to support decision-making across the electric grid market.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in data science, economics, and operations research, with hands-on experience in ML/AI and cloud platforms.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Economics, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Strong programming and analytical experience using Python, R, SAS, EViews, or VBA.
• Experience developing ML/AI predictive analytics including regression and forecasting, classification and clustering, time-series forecasting, deep learning, NLP, and LLMs.
• Experience with NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
• Experience creating dashboards and data visualization with Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, or Streamlit.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern software engineering practices (Azure, AWS, GCP, Git).
• Strong data management and data engineering knowledge (SQL, NoSQL, ETL, data warehousing).

Responsabilidades

• Use statistics, economics, and advanced data analysis to uncover patterns in market operations, participant activity, pricing, supply and demand, and anomalies.
• Develop forward-looking and predictive analytics to identify trends, behaviors, and issues.
• Build automated alerts, dashboards, and analytical tools to flag unusual market outcomes.
• Lead end-to-end data science projects from problem definition to delivery.
• Investigate market outcomes and operational events using data queries, MISO systems, and simulation tools to identify root causes and evaluate scenarios.
• Contribute to team goals, create insights, and identify opportunities to improve market performance.
