Job summary

MISO is seeking a Senior Data Scientist – Market Evaluation to drive data-driven insights across its electricity market portfolio. You will design and implement predictive analytics, develop dashboards, and automate alerts to highlight unusual market outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science or Economics; Master's preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in data science/advanced analytics.
• Proficiency with Python, R, SAS, EViews, or VBA.
• Experience building ML/AI predictive analytics (regression, forecasting, time-series, NLP).
• Experience with NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn.
• Experience creating dashboards with Power BI/Tableau/Plotly/Streamlit.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and Git.
• Strong data management/engineering knowledge (SQL/NoSQL/ETL/dwh).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data science projects from problem definition to delivery.
• Develop forward-looking predictive analytics to identify market trends and issues.
• Build automated alerts, dashboards, and tools for actionable insights.
• Analyze market operations, pricing, supply/demand, and market design patterns.
• Investigate market outcomes using data queries and simulations to identify root causes.
• Contribute to team goals and identify opportunities to improve market performance.
