Thumbtack is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist in the Business Analytics team to drive insights across the marketplace, focusing on conversion and monetization. You’ll steward key metrics, build dashboards, and collaborate with leadership to turn analyses into strategic decisions.

You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to influence company strategy and report updates to the Board, in a high-visibility role aimed at shaping Thumbtack’s next moves.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a highly analytical role, preferably in tech
• Proficiency in SQL and Python or R to analyze large data sets
• Strong statistics, business judgment, and ability to synthesize insights
• Experience partnering with executives to understand business needs
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with using AI to automate workflows and enable self-serve analytics
• Experience with revenue modeling and forecasting in growth or public company environments

Responsabilités

• Define, monitor, and report on the key metrics that measure Thumbtack’s success
• Lead business performance analysis and reporting that surfaces emerging risks and opportunities for leadership
• Conduct deep-dive analyses that answer the questions most critical to Thumbtack’s future strategy
• Support and improve the company revenue forecasting model and the broader forecasting and planning process
• Build and maintain the dashboards and self-serve tools that teams across the company rely on
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and the leadership team to translate insight into action
• Strengthen our data culture through peer collaboration, review, training, and coaching
