Job summary

WiredPeople seeks a senior data scientist contractor (1099) to lead advanced analytics for government and public health clients. You will design analytical approaches and translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.

The role requires deep ML experience, strong R and SQL skills, and a track record of delivering on external engagements. You will work with Azure Databricks and modern data pipelines in a regulated data environment.

Qualifications

• Azure Databricks expertise and strong R and SQL skills.
• Experience with ML techniques including predictive modeling and Random Forest.
• Experience handling sensitive health or regulated data; CITI Certification required.
• Prior consulting with external clients and government stakeholders is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analytical Leadership: define analytical approaches and translate insights for stakeholders.
• Advanced Statistical Modeling: develop, validate, and productionize ML models (predictive modeling, Random Forest, Bayesian methods).
• Client Consulting: work directly with external clients and government stakeholders to understand needs and deliver solutions.
• Data Translation: present complex findings to non-technical audiences and decision-makers.
• Data Management & Pipeline Development: oversee ETL/ELT pipelines with governance and security.
• Technical Execution: leverage Azure Databricks, R, and SQL to build scalable data science solutions.
