Summit in Washington, DC, is seeking a Data Science Consultant to join a team that turns complex data into actionable insights using modern analytics, ML, and cloud pipelines. The role blends exploratory analysis, model development, and production‑ready engineering in a hybrid DC area setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years total experience in data science including data preprocessing, data visualization, statistical techniques and concepts, and data management.
• 4+ years of programming in Python and/or R with ability to review and modify code.
• 2+ years of consulting experience with project management skills.
• Experience developing analytical solutions in cloud environments (AWS or Azure) with data storage and ETL.
• Experience using version control (Git).
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights.
• Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches and actionable insights.
• Develop data visualizations and communicate findings through dashboards and summaries for technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Apply statistical methods and ML techniques for segmentation, predictive modeling, and pattern detection.
• Iteratively investigate business questions through data analysis and hypothesis testing.
• Design scalable analytics and data engineering workflows for production‑ready solutions.
• Mentor junior staff in data science and software development best practices.
• Contribute to technical responses for data science proposals.
