Job summary

HP is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead the data and analytics foundation for strategic AI software initiatives. You will integrate data from software, hardware, telemetry, and business systems to enable data-driven decisions across engineering, product, and management teams.

You will combine expertise in data engineering, ML, analytics, experimentation, and statistics to deliver insights that improve platform performance, software quality, and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Four-year or graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in data science, ML, analytics, data engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Proven experience building production-scale analytics platforms, data pipelines, and ML solutions.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets from software systems, AI platforms, cloud environments, or connected devices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead analytics initiatives across multiple engineering and business organizations.
• Experience supporting data-driven decision making at technical and leadership levels.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data architectures to support multiple software platform initiatives.
• Integrate data across telemetry, hardware, AI workloads, validation systems, and business tools.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, models, transformations, and reporting frameworks.
• Define data governance, quality, lineage, security, and lifecycle standards.
• Build ML models to identify performance trends, anomalies, optimization opportunities, and risks.
• Develop workload characterization models and comparative analyses across configurations.
• Create predictive models for performance, reliability, capacity planning, and system behavior.
• Design experiments to validate hypotheses and measure effects of changes.
• Develop executive dashboards and visualizations for platform health and business metrics.
• Partner with engineering teams to translate data-driven insights into product improvements.
• Present findings to technical teams, leaders, and executives.
• Drive data literacy and analytics best practices across the organization.
• Mentor engineers on ML, experimentation, and data science practices.
