ExtraHop is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to advance machine learning for network detection and response. You will analyze large-scale network telemetry, develop models for threat detection, and work with data scientists, threat researchers, and software engineers to deploy reliable capabilities.

This applied role requires solving high-impact problems with rigorous evaluation, experimentation, and scalable code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a quantitative field.
• 7+ years of professional data science experience.
• Strong foundation in statistics and ML evaluation.
• Experience with imbalanced/noisy data and error analysis.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; maintainable, tested code.
• Experience collaborating with engineers to productionize models.
• Excellent communication across technical and product audiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale network telemetry to identify patterns and anomalies.
• Design and refine ML/AI methods for product use cases.
• Develop evaluation methods for cybersecurity data and rare events.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and feature engineering.
• Research new ML techniques and assess applicability to products.
• Establish metrics and monitoring for model performance.
