Job summary

SpyCloud, Inc. in Austin, TX, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist, Applied ML to design, build, and deploy models for cybersecurity use cases like incident detection and risk scoring.

You will own the full model lifecycle from data understanding to production deployment, collaborating with engineering, product, and research teams to deliver scalable systems. The role requires strong ML fundamentals, NLP experience, Python proficiency, and cloud or containerized deployment, with hands-on ownership

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building and shipping models in production with ownership of the data lifecycle around them
• Strong background in applied math and machine learning
• Experience leveraging NLP techniques for text classification, tagging, or entity extraction
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, XGBoost)
• Experience building/maintaining data pipelines (Airflow, Spark, Pandas) as part of modeling work
• Familiar with model versioning and monitoring (MLflow, DVC)
• Experience deploying models into cloud environments or containerized services

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and deploy models using real-world data for threat detection and risk scoring
• Build preprocessing pipelines and feature engineering for your models
• Own model monitoring, evaluation, and feedback loops to improve accuracy
• Prototype new approaches and productionize research or MVP signals
• Collaborate with product and data engineers to productionize models in AWS and containers
• Communicate design choices and maintain documentation for models and pipelines
