Job summary

ExtraHop is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to advance machine learning and AI capabilities powering our Network Detection and Response platform. You will analyze large-scale network telemetry, build models to identify malicious activity, and collaborate with data scientists, threat researchers, and engineers to deliver robust product features.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data science with ML models for real-world use cases.
• Strong foundation in statistics and experimental design.
• Experience handling incomplete, noisy, or imbalanced data and analysing errors.
• Ability to write maintainable, tested production-grade code.
• Excellent communication of findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale network telemetry to identify patterns and signals of malicious activity.
• Design and refine ML/AI methods to support ExtraHop’s products.
• Develop evaluation methods for cybersecurity data, including imbalanced datasets and changing attacker behaviour.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model development, and error analysis.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data science into production systems.
• Mentor other data scientists through code reviews and technical strategy.
