Job summary

DELFI Diagnostics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to collaborate with lab scientists, clinicians, engineers, and other data scientists to develop statistical methods for early cancer detection.

The role covers assay development, analytical validation, and QC, requiring strong background in probability, statistics, and regulated environments, with emphasis on translating analyses into clear regulatory documentation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Applied Math, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Engineering, or related field; PhD preferred.
• Five+ years of data analysis experience, with at least 3 years in Python (numpy, pandas).
• Strong foundations in probability theory and statistics (hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, estimation).
• Experience in regulated diagnostics (IVD, LDT) with rigorous studies and documentation.
• Ability to connect assay chemistry to data behavior and troubleshoot performance.

Responsibilities

• Design analyses for assay development, validation, and QC control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design experiments and document results.
• Contribute statistical methods to control strategy for reagents, instruments, QC.
• Provide operational data science support for production and run monitoring.
• Produce high-quality Python code following team best practices.
• Support regulatory submissions with rigorous, well-documented analyses.
