Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Global Data Insights and Analytics team in Dearborn, MI. You will own end‑to‑end analytic solutions, collaborating with product managers, software engineers and fellow data scientists to deliver scalable insights.

Responsibilities include building statistical models, applying retrieval-augmented generation, designing agentic workflows, and communicating results to executives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or relevant field.
• 5+ years experience in statistical or mathematical modeling, ML, Data Science or AI Engineering.
• 3+ years experience with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS).
• 1+ years experience designing, developing, deploying Agentic AI solutions including RAG pipelines and LLM/SLM integrations.
• 1+ years experience in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong capabilities in data manipulation and pattern recognition.
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks and LLM APIs.
• Experience with domain-specific model adaptation and fine-tuning.

Responsibilities

• Acquire deep understanding of business problems and translate them into solutions.
• Drive development and delivery of analytic and statistical models (data acquisition, algorithm design, model development).
• Ensure data and solution quality; communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences including executives.
• Design multi-step reasoning and agentic loops using LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Haystack.
• Architect retrieval-augmented generation structures with embeddings and vector indices.
• Evaluate and adapt SLMs for domain-specific tasks and define model selection frameworks.
• Establish benchmarks to validate reasoning, track drift, and minimize hallucinations.
• Optimize token efficiency and context management for agents.
