Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a versatile Senior Staff Data Scientist to join our team and help shape the future of our business operations. This role blends classical ML with applied AI, tackling predictive modeling and performance optimization for AI agentic systems.

You will work as a builder and strategic partner with business teams to unlock opportunities with data and AI. This is an in-office role 3 days/week in our HQ, Santa Clara, CA, requiring a strong coupling of technical execution

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent.
Master’s degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ years of academic research.
Strong foundation in statistics and probability theory.

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy ML models end-to-end for customer churn, supply chain, and finance forecasting.
Advance AI agentic systems, evaluate and tune AI agents for accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate with marketing, sales, product, finance to translate business problems into data solutions.
Own data science lifecycle from problem framing to deployment and monitoring.
Create data stories with Tableau/Looker to communicate insights.
Work with data platform team on deployment and monitoring.
