Job summary

Palo Alto Networks seeks a Senior Data Scientist to join the Santa Clara, CA HQ for a hybrid ML/AI role shaping business operations. You will build predictive models, characterize generative AI agents, and advise business teams to unlock opportunities with data and AI.

You will wear multiple hats, delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. This is an in-office role three days a week in our HQ, Santa Clara, CA, with collaboration across marketing, product, and finance to drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field with 3+ years of experience or related PhD/masters with study/industrial experience.
• Strong foundation in statistics and probability; depth in data science algorithms.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying ML models in production.
• Expert-level Python and ML libraries; SQL for complex queries.
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments and drive projects.
• Experience creating dashboards in Tableau/Looker or similar data viz tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop & Deploy Classical ML Models end-to-end for key business areas.
• Characterize, evaluate, and fine-tune AI agents to improve accuracy and reliability.
• Partner with marketing, product, finance, and GTM teams to translate challenges into data science problems.
• Own the full data science lifecycle from problem framing to deployment and monitoring.
• Visualize findings to tell compelling data stories to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Product to translate goals into data requirements.
