Job summary

Capture Higher Ed is seeking a Data Scientist to design, develop, and deliver predictive models and AI-driven features that improve enrollment outcomes for colleges and universities. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Client Success to apply ML, LLMs, and advanced analytics across higher education challenges.

You will work on AI integration, data engineering support, and KPI validation, reporting to the Director of Data Science.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in data science or ML roles.
• Proficiency in Python and common data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy).
• Strong knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Experience with ML modeling techniques (classification, regression, clustering, time-series).
• Familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering concepts.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain predictive models (application/enrollment likelihood, segmentation, clustering).
• Apply supervised and unsupervised learning techniques to partner data.
• Implement attribution models and benchmarks to evaluate campaigns and financial aid effectiveness.
• Build and fine-tune LLM-based solutions and prompt templates for scalable features.
