Job summary

TransUnion seeks a Sr Consultant in Data Science and Analytics to partner with cross-functional teams for US financial services clients. You will develop predictive risk management and BI solutions for credit issuers and lenders, and lead analytic engagements across the lending lifecycle.

You will design programs in R, SAS, SQL, Hive and Pig on Linux/mainframe systems, deliver actionable insights to internal and executive audiences, and help promote integrated customer solutions while mentoring

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, financial mathematics, engineering, operations research, or another highly quantitative field.
• A track record of academic excellence
• At least four (4) years of professional analytic experience in Financial Services or related industries
• Multiple examples of demonstrated success in client-facing roles over at least three (3) years
• Advanced programming skills with R or SAS; experience with SQL, Hive, Pig, Python, C/C++, Java; familiarity with relational, MPP, and Hadoop data management; proficiency with MS Office
• Strong project management abilities to manage multiple assignments

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive new business initiatives and deliver value-added analytics for US Financial Services clients
• Lead analytic client engagements involving descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analyses across the lending portfolio lifecycle
• Design and write data extraction, segmentation, and statistical analysis programs on large datasets using R, SAS, SQL, Hive, and Pig
• Deliver insights and recommendations in concise presentations for internal/external and executive audiences
• Develop proposals, sales collateral, and promotional material to enable adoption of integrated solutions
• Provide mentorship and training to junior colleagues and maintain progress with limited supervision
