Job summary

Genentech is seeking a Senior Data Product Manager for Analytical Data Products, based in South San Francisco with a hybrid schedule. You will own the product vision, partner with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Engineers, and drive data initiatives that deliver measurable business value.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong stakeholder management, and fluency with cloud platforms and data governance frameworks. A discretionary bonus may be available based on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Operations, Marketing, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of combined experience in product management, data management, AI, software development, or equivalent.
• Strong technical fluency with big data technologies and cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of Semantic Layer concepts, data governance, and FAIR data principles.
• Experience with data observability, governance, and lineage tools (Informatica, Collibra, Monte Carlo).
• Excellent communication and ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Develop and communicate a clear, value‑driven product vision aligned with Genentech objectives.
• Lead end‑to‑end execution for a portfolio of Analytical Data Products and manage the backlog.
• Engage with business leaders, data scientists, analysts and engineers to drive adoption and improvements.
• Define data quality metrics and collaborate with data stewards and engineers to ensure data integrity.
• Guide cross‑functional teams on modern data architecture, data mesh, and data fabric concepts.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR and governance policies across programs.
