Job summary

Genentech, based in South San Francisco, is seeking a Senior Data Product Manager, Analytical Data Products. You will lead the vision, roadmaps, and cross-functional delivery of strategic data products to drive measurable business value.

You will work with data scientists, engineers, and business partners to improve data quality, implement governance, and scale data platforms while aligning with enterprise objectives. This is a hybrid on-site role with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years in product management, data management, AI, or software.
• Strong technical fluency with big data, databases, SQL, and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Semantic Layer concepts, data governance, and FAIR data principles.
• Experience with data observability and governance tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience collaborating with Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams.

Responsibilities

• Define data product roadmaps with features, timelines, and cross-product dependencies.
• Lead end-to-end execution for a portfolio of Analytical Data Products.
• Engage with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to evangelize the product vision and drive adoption.
• Align stakeholders across organizational levels, manage demand, and prioritize work.
• Establish and maintain data quality frameworks and governance standards.
• Guide cross-functional teams in modern data architecture including data mesh, data fabric, and FAIR data practices.
• Monitor adoption, ROI, and drive data-driven decisions to maximize value.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, GDPR and related governance requirements.
