Job summary

WHOOP is seeking a Senior Data Products Engineer to build trusted, reusable data products powering decision-making across the company. You will transform raw data into well-modeled datasets, develop dimensional models and semantic layers, and collaborate with Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering to ensure a consistent data foundation.

You will mentor engineers, establish data-product practices, and leverage AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining governance and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 5+ years designing production data solutions with analytics focus.
• Expert-level SQL and dimensional modeling experience.
• Experience with dbt or similar data transformation tools.
• Knowledge of semantic modeling, metrics, and data governance.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
• Proven cross-functional leadership and stakeholder collaboration.
• Mentoring engineers and promoting data-product thinking.

Responsibilities

• Design and own data products transforming raw data into trusted datasets.
• Develop scalable dimensional models, semantic layers, and dbt transformations.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering teams to align data products with business needs.
• Establish engineering practices for data modeling, governance, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Data Platform Engineers to improve upstream data quality and contracts.
• Drive adoption of reusable data products and self-service analytics.
• Mentor engineers and analysts in data modeling and data product thinking.
• Leverage AI tools to speed development while upholding quality and governance.
