Job summary

WHOOP is seeking an Analytics Engineering Manager to lead and scale a high-performing team focused on transforming raw data into analytics-ready models. You will partner across Analytics, Data Engineering, and Analytics Platform to build scalable data foundations and governance.

You will hire, develop, and set engineering standards while driving the health of the analytics transformation layer and enabling AI-powered analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
• Experience leading and managing technical teams.
• Deep expertise in SQL, dbt, and modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
• Strong understanding of software-engineering practices applied to analytics (version control, automated testing, CI/CD, code review, documentation).
• Experience coaching and developing a team of engineers, setting clear expectations, and fostering an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Analytics Engineering team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.
• Own the health and evolution of WHOOP's analytics transformation layer, ensuring models are reliable, maintainable, and well-documented.
• Partner with Analytics to translate requirements into scalable data models supporting reporting, forecasting, and decision-making.
• Serve as a key interface between Analytics and Data Engineering for data contracts, pipeline changes, and architecture.
• Establish and uphold standards for dbt development, testing, lineage, and data-quality practices in partnership with Analytics Platform.
• Set priorities and drive execution for the team, translating company goals into a clear roadmap and managing risks and dependencies.
• Explore AI leverage in development workflows and make analytical data accessible for AI-powered tools safely.
• Stay current on analytics engineering practices and emerging technologies to improve quality, velocity, and scalability.
