Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Data Privacy Engineer to advance enterprise privacy engineering and data protection capabilities across our healthcare ecosystem. You will design scalable privacy-enhancing technologies and govern sensitive data lifecycles to enable secure, compliant use of data.

Collaborate with engineering, product, legal, and security teams to embed privacy-by-design, perform risk assessments, and drive governance metrics and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 7+ years advancing Privacy Engineering, Security Engineering, or related technical disciplines with GDPR/CCPA/HIPAA exposure.
• 5+ years designing and deploying enterprise-scale data protection capabilities including PETs and DLP.
• Strong software engineering foundation with Python, Java, Go or similar languages.
• 5+ years in cloud-native / DevSecOps environments with CI/CD and IaC.
• 3+ years leading cross-functional privacy, data protection, or compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and implementation of enterprise data protection and privacy engineering across data environments.
• Design, deploy, and optimize Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) like encryption, tokenization, and anonymization.
• Partner with engineering, product, legal, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to embed privacy-by-design principles.
• Conduct privacy risk assessments, DPIAs, threat modeling, and control evaluations to monitor risks.
• Drive governance, privacy metrics, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
