Job summary

Publicis Sapient is seeking a Senior Associate Data Platform Support Engineer to maintain and optimize enterprise data platforms on AWS. You will monitor batch and real-time data processing, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate across SRE, Infra, Development, and Business teams to ensure system reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in IT with emphasis on data platforms and cloud
• 4+ years in data engineering/big data technologies
• Proficient with Spark to build scalable data apps (Scala/Python)
• Experience with cloud-native apps on Kubernetes/EKS
• Hands-on with Kafka-based streaming architectures
• Able to design scalable ETL/data ingestion pipelines (NiFi)
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, Hadoop ecosystem, and data lakes
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Production support, performance optimization, and troubleshooting experience
• Knowledge of CI/CD, IaC, and cloud security best practices

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 production support for data platforms on AWS
• Monitor EMR/Spark, Kafka, NiFi, EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, Couchbase, S3
• Investigate incidents, perform RCAs, and drive permanent fixes
• Monitor batch and streaming pipelines and ensure timely job completions
• Support workflow orchestration using Oozie and scheduling dependencies
• Troubleshoot Kafka producers/consumers and lag analysis
• Support Kubernetes (EKS) workloads and deployments
• Monitor EMR cluster health, auto-scaling, and Spark job execution
• Assist with DB administration for Aurora/PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, Couchbase
• Execute production deployments via Jenkins and Harness pipelines
• Develop dashboards and alerts using Dynatrace and CloudWatch
• Capacity planning and infra optimization to reduce cloud costs
• Collaborate with SRE/Infra/Dev/Product/Business during incidents
• Participate in on-call, releases, DR exercises and major incidents
• Identify automation opportunities to improve reliability
• Ensure compliance with procedures and security standards
