Job summary

Abacus Technology Corporation is seeking a Database Developer/Platform Owner to provide database development, data-platform ownership, requirements analysis, testing, integration, and operational support for the NOAA Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO). This is a full-time position.

This role involves hands-on work across Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, data modeling, performance tuning, and data interfaces, coordinating with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to deliver

Qualifications

5+ years of database development, data engineering, DBA work, or ownership of enterprise platforms.
Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting relational databases and data-driven apps.
Hands-on with SQL dialects (SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL) and data modeling fundamentals.
Knowledge of source-control, release management, QA, and data governance.

Responsibilities

Own database platforms' strategy, lifecycle, backlog, priorities, and health.
Gather and prioritize data, reporting, integration, performance, and availability requirements.
Evaluate DB platform options via ROI, cost-benefit, and make-versus-buy analyses.
Recommend configurations, licensing, upgrades, and operations plans.
Design, implement, and support SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle and related apps.
Develop data interfaces, integrations, ETL, dashboards, analytics, and reporting.
