Job summary

Procore is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Data Platform to lead the team responsible for streaming infrastructure (Kafka/MSK) and the Databricks lakehouse, powering data used across the company.

You will define the technical strategy, drive a scalable and secure data foundation, and partner with security, analytics, and product teams to align platform investments with business goals. The role demands strong leadership, vision, and communication across technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering.
• 5+ years of people management experience leading engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka and AWS MSK, and Databricks lakehouse platforms.
• Experience operating mission-critical data infrastructure with availability, performance, and on-call ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of data engineers responsible for streaming infrastructure (Kafka/MSK) and the Databricks lakehouse.
• Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for the data platform.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of streaming pipelines and lakehouse infrastructure.
• Partner with security and compliance teams to maintain data protection and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and product stakeholders to prioritize platform investments.
• Manage platform costs and drive efficiency across streaming and lakehouse infra.
• Mentor and develop engineers to foster technical excellence and ownership.
