Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Emerging Products team in Austin, TX. You will design and scale lakehouse architectures, build robust streaming and batch pipelines, and ensure reliable data flows to analysts and data scientists across greenfield infrastructure.

You'll work with Kafka, Spark, Iceberg, and Databricks, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to shape our data platform and empower data‑driven decision making. Hybrid remote options available in the USA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/IT or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years in data engineering focusing on data platforms and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience designing lakehouse architectures with Bronze/Silver/Gold.
• Deep expertise in Kafka, Spark, and Airflow for streaming and batch pipelines.
• Proficiency with open table formats Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi and trade-offs.
• Experience using Databricks for large-scale data processing.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Nice to have experience with Trino or Starburst and hybrid streaming/batch architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Medallion-layer data architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and ingestion pipelines.
• Build and maintain scalable streaming and batch data pipelines using Kafka, Spark, and Airflow.
• Manage table formats Iceberg, Delta, and Hudi for performance and reliability.
• Optimize analytics queries with Trino/Starburst and Databricks environments.
• Monitor pipeline health and improve data quality and platform reliability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to meet data requirements.
