Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design and operate a secure, scalable data platform powering Workforce Analytics.

You will focus on enabling high-quality, governed data consumption in Snowflake with secure access patterns for humans, applications, and AI-driven tools, while owning the Posit (RStudio) platform for analysts and data scientists. You will collaborate across Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Integration and champion robust data governance,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or data platform engineering.
• Deep experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning and access control.
• Strong SQL and experience working with complex data systems.
• Experience with data transformation tools (Coalesce.io, dbt, or similar).
• Experience designing data access and security models.
• Experience supporting or working with R / Posit (RStudio) environments.

Responsibilities

• Design secure data access patterns in Snowflake for analysts, applications, and AI/ML tools.
• Own the Snowflake platform performance, compute strategy, and cost.
• Own the Posit platform for Workforce Analytics and ensure secure connectivity between Posit and Snowflake.
• Partner with Data Engineers to productionize pipelines using Coalesce.io.
• Improve platform usability for engineers, analysts, and data scientists.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and deploy across environments.
