Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design and operate a secure, scalable data platform that powers Workforce Analytics.

The role emphasizes governed data consumption in Snowflake with secure access for humans, applications, and AI-driven tools. You will own the Posit (RStudio) platform, ensuring data scientists have a secure, performant environment for analytical workflows, and collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Integration to deliver trusted

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or data platform engineering.
• Deep experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning and access control.
• Strong SQL and experience with complex data systems.
• Experience with data transformation tools like Coalesce.io or dbt.
• Experience designing data access and security models.
• Experience supporting or working with R / Posit environments.

Responsibilities

• Secure Consumption Enablement: design secure data access patterns in Snowflake for analysts, applications and AI tools.
• Snowflake Platform & Data Optimization: own performance, compute strategy, and cost management.
• Posit Platform Ownership: manage Posit (RStudio) for Workforce Analytics and secure connectivity to Snowflake.
• Transformation & Pipeline Enablement: productionize pipelines and define modular transformation standards.
• Data Reliability & Quality: implement data quality checks and ensure reliability of workforce data.
• CI/CD for Data Workflows: build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data transformations.
