Job summary

Ontic in the United States is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to shape and scale our data platform during a period of growth. You will design data architecture, build pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and Power BI, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to turn data into actionable insights.

The role requires on-site presence at Creedmoor, NC or Miramar, FL for at least three days a week, with occasional travel to UK sites.

Qualifications

• Experience administering a Data Warehouse with Snowflake preferred.
• Ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience building data models and flows from multiple sources using Kimball techniques.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling principles.
• Experience with DBT and ELT pipelines.
• Proven SQL programming experience in a commercial setting.
• Experience using BI reporting tools (Power BI) to develop dashboards and reports.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Snowflake Cortex and OpenAI Codex is a plus.
• Experience documenting ELT specifications and data validation requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Ontic's data architecture and pipelines.
• Analyse data across systems, produce data models, and identify gaps.
• Define and enforce governance strategies for key data attributes.
• Act as geographical data leader reporting to the Data Architecture Manager.
• Collaborate on data team initiatives impacting Ontic's global pillars.
• Administer and maintain the Snowflake Data Warehouse.
• Develop standards for data engineering in line with best practice.
• Act as technical lead on Data Platform technologies.
• Contribute to pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from disparate sources.
• Provide input on data strategy by suggesting new technologies and innovations.
• Translate data into valuable insights and develop dashboards for stakeholders.
• Support end-user questions and contribute to data education.
• Host on-site data quality clinics and participate in governance audits.
