Job summary

Aker Systems is recruiting a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, build and operate secure, scalable data platform capabilities across public sector client delivery projects. You will work with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, Architects and DevOps to support batch, real-time streaming, analytical and operational workloads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in data/platform engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-native data platforms.
• Strong programming experience with Java and/or Python.
• Experience with real-time streaming and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.).
• Experience with distributed processing technologies (Spark, Flink, Kafka Streams).
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud services (AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy data platform services and components.
• Build and maintain platform capabilities for batch and real-time workloads.
• Develop and operate distributed data services using Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, or Flink.
• Manage cloud-native platform capabilities on AWS and/or Azure.
• Support data ingestion, processing, storage and integration across systems.
• Implement testing, validation, CI/CD pipelines and IaC practices.
