Job summary

TRM Labs is hiring a Data Platform Engineer to design and operate scalable data services that analyze blockchain activity at petabyte scale. You will own end-to-end data pipelines, ETL, and data models enabling sub-second queries, while ensuring reliability and high availability across multi-cloud environments.

You will collaborate with data scientists, backend engineers, and product managers to accelerate TRM’s mission of building a safer financial system for billions of people.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in architecting distributed system architecture.
• Exceptional programming skills in Python, and adeptness in SQL or SparkSQL.
• Experience with data stores and engines such as Iceberg, Trino, BigQuery, StarRocks, and Citus.
• Proficiency in data pipeline and workflow orchestration tools like Airflow and DBT.
• Expertise in data processing technologies and streaming workflows including Spark, Kafka, and Flink.
• Experience deploying and monitoring infrastructure in cloud environments using Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Datadog.
• Proven ability loading, querying, and transforming large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Build highly reliable data services to integrate with dozens of blockchains.
• Develop ETL pipelines transforming petabytes of data in real-time.
• Design data models for sub-second query latency on blockchain data.
• Oversee deployment and monitoring of large database clusters with high availability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to design data models for TRM’s products.
