Root is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team to drive marketing operations, finance, analytics, and data science enablement across the company. In this role, you will guide complex technical implementations with engineers on your team, support marketing and data science workflows, and collaborate with stakeholders to define strategy and the roadmap for the domain.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will help us build platform-level tooling for faster onboarding of data

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a software engineer.
• Experience building data pipelines and platforms.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with cloud services and data tooling.
• Strong communication with both engineers and business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Marketing, Product, Data Science, Analytics to set quarterly strategy.
• Identify and socialize technical initiatives to improve product and systems.
• Coach engineers on experiments and project planning.
• Contribute code to development cycles to enhance team impact.
• Lead incident response and improve system resiliency.
• Coordinate with Staff Engineers to evangelize standards and best practices.
