Job summary

NuAxis is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer for a remote federal program. The role centers on hands-on technical leadership for an event-driven data platform built on the Confluent Platform with Kafka and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Java microservices in Kubernetes environments.
• Strong Kafka/Confluent experience including Streams and REST integration.
• Proficient SQL/PL-SQL with data modeling and performance tuning.
• Ability to lead technical decisions and mentor developers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Kafka Streams applications and stateful topologies.
• Build and maintain Spring Boot microservices and REST APIs.
• Own Kubernetes deployment topology and platform workloads.
• Lead production incident response and RCA development.
• Administer Confluent Platform and Elasticsearch clusters.
• Provide architectural direction for the FLAG system and stakeholder collaboration.
