Job summary

Empower LLC in the United States is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and support scalable data platform solutions in production. You will work with cross‑functional teams to implement data integration, streaming, and storage architectures in cloud environments.

You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices, observability, and operational readiness, while hands‑on coding, reviews, and production support keep you close to the technology.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science or equivalent experience required.
• 6–9+ years of software or data engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building data platforms in production.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake, Kafka.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Understanding of distributed systems, cloud architectures, and design patterns.
• Excellent problem solving, communication, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data platform solutions including streaming, CDC, data warehouse, data lake, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop and adopt best practices for configuration management, observability, testing, and operations readiness.
• Build and support end-to-end data integration pipelines from source systems to analytics targets.
• Participate in design sessions and code reviews for complex data solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to data platform performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with architects and governance teams to align with enterprise standards.
• Support operational resilience with monitoring and data recovery processes.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve capabilities.
• Contribute to documentation and engineering standards.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and support team development.
