Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate large-scale data platforms. You will build end-to-end data pipelines, architect data platforms as products, and create MCP servers and AI agents to automate data workflows.

You’ll work across ERP, CRM, and analytics data, applying Spark, PySpark, and cloud data warehouse technologies to enable data-driven decisions at scale. Remote role for US residents. Base salary includes RSU eligibility.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of work experience as a Software Engineer with data focus or as Data Engineer.
• 5+ years building and maintaining large-scale production data pipelines.
• 5+ years hands-on Spark / PySpark in production, with tuning.
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals; cloud data warehouse/lakehouse experience (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Iceberg).
• Experience with API frameworks for data pipelines; exposure to RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Cloud: AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and backend ingestion workflows to enable automation and analytics.
• Handle data from ERP, CRM, Product, Order Flow, and Support data sources.
• Manage critical pipelines to support growth and analytics; ensure data quality and observability.
• Design data architecture and data platforms as products; collaborate with platform teams.
• Build MCP servers and AI agents to accelerate data workflows; evaluate AI-native tooling.
