Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead a team responsible for end-to-end data integration and warehousing efforts. You will design, implement, and optimize ETL pipelines, work with Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2, and collaborate with vendors, data architects, and analysts to deliver scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities include ensuring data quality and security, mentoring junior developers, and enacting governance frameworks across data initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Technology, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional data engineering, data architecture, or data integration experience.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of developers for end-to-end design, development, and optimization of data integration and warehousing solutions.
• Design, develop, and test complex data mappings and transformations using Informatica PowerCenter.
• Build and optimize ETL pipelines with focus on scale, performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Expert SQL skills with Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2; performance tuning, partitioning, PDO, and stored procedures.
• Provide Linux scripting and enterprise job scheduling expertise.
• Familiar with APIs, Files, SFTP/FTPS, Streaming Data, Database Connectors, SOAP, and REST integrations.
• Apply data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality/security controls.
• Mentor and guide junior developers; enforce documentation of data processes and workflows.
