Job summary

Sherwin-Williams is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data infrastructure for large data volumes. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, QA engineers, and SMEs to ensure accessible, reliable, and secure data, including ingestion, transformation, integration, and data warehousing.

You will lead data pipeline development, optimize storage and processing, and guide tool selection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology or 7+ years of experience in data engineering.
• 4+ years of data engineering experience.
• 2+ years of SQL experience (PostgreSQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, SnowSQL).
• 2+ years building applications, system integrations, and web services.
• 2+ years Linux scripting and shell.
• Experience with on‑prem and cloud data warehouses ETL tools.
• Understanding of OTC, P2P, PIM business processes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support.
• Act as a technical point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing updates and addressing data inquiries.
• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data workflows.
• Develop and maintain data models and schema designs for storage and retrieval.
• Optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval for performance and scalability.
• Lead selection and implementation of data engineering tools and technologies.
• Establish best practices and standards for data engineering processes.
• Stay updated with emerging data engineering technologies and assess their impact.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate data sources and enable seamless data flow.
• Implement and maintain data governance and security measures.
