Job summary

Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Software Engineer IV for the Datastore team to lead backend data infrastructure design, including PostgreSQL models, Kafka pipelines, and the GraphQL API. You will own complex systems, design data workflows, and collaborate across platform, application, and scientific teams to unlock new workflows in Beacon's clinical data portfolio.

Qualifications

• Extensive backend experience focused on data platforms and APIs.
• Proficient in SQL with PostgreSQL and data modeling.
• Experience with event streaming (Kafka) and GraphQL APIs.
• Strong scripting in Python or Julia; familiarity with containers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design across the Datastore platform and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver data workflows.
• Mentor engineers to raise coding standards and tooling.
• Draft RFCs for feature discovery and architectural decisions.
• Champion data integrity, testing, and maintainability across systems.
