Job summary

Beacon Biosignals seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Datastore team. You will design and scale backend data infrastructure, focusing on PostgreSQL models, Kafka pipelines, and a GraphQL API to enable clinical data workflows.

You will own data pipelines delivering dataset snapshots to our warehouse, write SQL by hand, and draft RFCs for complex feature discovery and design phases.

Qualifications

• Proficient in PostgreSQL data modeling and query optimization.
• Experience with Kafka-based event pipelines and streaming data.
• Familiar with GraphQL APIs and API design.
• Strong systems design and performance tuning for backend services.

Responsibilities

• You partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data integrations and services.
• You design and implement features with emphasis on data integrity, correctness, and maintainability.
• You draft RFCs to lead complex feature discovery and technical design phases.
• You own data pipelines delivering dataset snapshots into our warehouse and ensure idempotent behavior.
• You collaborate with platform teams to expose robust APIs enabling new workflows.
