Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer on the Data & Performance Enablement team to design and implement platforms for distributed event streaming, database, messaging, and data warehouse technologies. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with customer teams, and help shape the technical roadmap for the area.

The role emphasizes building reliable data systems, improving performance, and delivering scalable data solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5 years of applicable experience.
• Strong experience with messaging platforms (Kafka/Redis).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience.
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash or Python).
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain key components of our data platform automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance and reliability issues in data systems; act as escalation point.
• Identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies and proposing solutions.
