Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer on our Data & Performance Enablement team in Nebraska. You will design and implement platforms that manage distributed event streaming technologies and own features for database, messaging, and data warehouse platforms to empower engineering teams.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with customer teams, and help shape the technical roadmap for your area while ensuring high performance and reliability across data systems.

Qualifications

• 5 years of applicable experience.
• Strong experience with messaging platforms (Kafka/Redis).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Solid experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure or AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain key components of our data platform automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and reliability issues in our data systems, often serving as an escalation point for the team.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support the team's critical services.
• Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by researching new data technologies and proposing innovative solutions.
