Job summary

Hinge, the dating app, is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Data Platform team in New York City. You will design, develop, and maintain core data services, building a robust lakehouse and scalable pipelines to empower reporting, analytics, and ML use cases.

You will collaborate with BI, Product Data Engineering, Data Science, MLE & AI, and other teams, driving data-driven decisions and reliable data delivery across the organization.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional data engineering experience.
• Experience building and automating data pipelines and tooling.
• Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core services within Hinge's data platform.
• Build and maintain the lakehouse for reporting, analytics, and ML initiatives.
• Maintain data pipelines and governance, automation, monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Develop observability systems for data quality and system monitoring.
• Incorporate internal user feedback to improve productivity tooling.
• Ensure data flows from creation to presentation layers with data teams.
• Learn and apply data engineering best practices to improve pipelines.
• Participate in on-call rotation to maintain system reliability.
