Job summary

Medidata, a Dassault Systèmes brand, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to expand analytics by building scalable data pipelines and Lakehouse infrastructure. You will work with Python, SQL, and a GitOps mindset in a hybrid Iselin, NJ setting.

You will own data lakehouse components, partner with Data Ops, and mentor engineers while delivering robust dashboards and self-service analytics for product teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating reliable data pipelines.
• Strong focus on analytics transformation and Lakehouse best practices.
• Experience with distributed processing and query engines (Spark/Trino).
• Proven dbt production implementation with modeling, testing, and docs.
• Hands-on Apache Iceberg in production environments.
• Experience with Iceberg catalogs like Polaris or Lakekeeper.
• Experience with data ingestion tools such as Fivetran or Airbyte.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services.
• Comfort working in English and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of Lakehouse components from design to deployment, applying best practices in batch and streaming.
• Collaborate with Data Ops and Product teams to integrate data sources and enhance analytics dashboards.
• Write RFCs, lead technical discussions, and mentor Analytics Engineers in the Lakehouse work.
• Engage with stakeholders from managers to product teams to translate monitoring and analytics requirements into actionable projects.
• Participate in team rituals and cross-domain pairing to improve data ingestion and exposure.
