Job summary

University of Maryland Global Campus seeks a Senior Engineer for Data Enablement & Management to drive the design, implementation, and reliability of the enterprise Lakehouse and Data & AI platform. You’ll lead data engineering, platform operations, and advanced analytics enablement across Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud architectures.

You will mentor engineers, set governance standards, and collaborate with Data Architecture, BI, Data Science, and business stakeholders to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related roles.
• Experience leading enterprise Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, Lakehouse implementations.
• Experience designing and operating enterprise data pipelines and analytical platforms.
• Experience with governance, observability, security, and operational controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and modernization of UMGC's Data & AI platform.
• Mentor engineers and establish engineering standards and patterns.
• Oversee data pipelines, Lakehouse components, and data products.
• Support Databricks AI/BI capabilities and semantic models for analytics.
