University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks a Senior Engineer for Data Enablement & Management to lead the enterprise Lakehouse and Data & AI platform. You will guide data engineering, modernization, and platform reliability, partnering with Data Architecture, Data Science & AI, BI, and business stakeholders.

The role requires senior technical leadership, mentoring, and governance across Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, and cloud data architectures in a hybrid Adelphi, MD setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, data platform engineering, analytics engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, and Lakehouse implementations.
• Experience designing and operating enterprise data pipelines, governed data products, and analytical platforms.
• Experience implementing enterprise data governance, observability, security, and operational controls.

Responsabilités

• Lead design, implementation, modernization, and operational reliability of UMGC's enterprise Lakehouse and Data & AI platform.
• Mentor engineering staff and establish engineering standards, automation practices, and operational procedures.
• Drive data integration, data products, and AI/BI enablement across the platform.
• Oversee data governance, security, lineage, and observability across enterprise data assets.
