Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design scalable, reliable data solutions for a large enterprise and lead the engineering teams responsible for implementation. This hybrid role is based in our Waltham, MA, or Brooklyn, NY offices.

You will oversee data migrations, mappings, catalog updates, and the development of data models and SaaS integrations, driving data-driven design and governance across projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in database development (Snowflake, SQLServer, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience in data mapping and data modeling with cross-team collaboration
• Proven ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment and strong communication

Responsibilities

• Perform and collaborate on system designs and data solution development including data migration and extracts from multiple legacy systems
• Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership of engineering team(s) responsible for implementation
• Update data mappings and data catalogs
• Participate in, and/or lead, design and pre-deployment reviews
• Data profiling and data synchronization design/development
• Assist in designing SaaS solutions and data modeling
• Promote data-driven design and governance across projects
