Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Lead Data Engineer in a hybrid role based out of Waltham, MA or Brooklyn, NY. You will design scalable data solutions and lead engineering teams responsible for implementation in a large enterprise environment.

You will collaborate on data migration, profiling, governance, and a data platform that supports future growth across business units. Experience with Snowflake, Azure, and ETL tools is required or a strong plus.

Qualifications

7+ years' experience in database development (Snowflake, SQLServer, Oracle, etc).
Experience in data mapping, modeling and defining data models.
Experience in a dynamic work environment.
Proven ability to work well in a team and build positive relationships.
Experience with cloud data architecture (Azure) and Snowflake.
Experience with ETL tools such as Matillion (or similar).
Experience with real-time data loads is a plus.
Experience with large-scale data warehouse design (Type 2 & Type 1 SCDs, Kimball).
Experience with Agile/Lean software development is a plus.
Experience with SaaS solutions such as Salesforce, ESRI and Workforce is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform and collaborate on system designs and data solution development including data migration.
Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership of engineering teams responsible for implementation.
Update data mappings and data catalogs.
Participate in, and/or lead, design and pre-deployment reviews.
Data profiling and design of data synchronization processes.
Participate in SaaS data modeling and cross-application data standards.
Assist in determining cross-application data standards and governance.
Create database deliverables with quality and traceability to requirements.
Ensure components work together to meet objectives and address cross-release issues.
Participate in go-live activities and post-go-live support.
Contribute to data management maturity assessments.
