Job summary

Metriport Inc. is building the data infrastructure to power healthcare data exchange. We seek a senior data engineer to own data pipelines, scale our platform, and mentor engineers.

You will work across the data stack, from ingestion to serving, using Spark, Parquet, Iceberg, Delta on AWS, and collaborating with ML teams. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate, you will influence design choices and help deliver scalable data solutions for millions of patients.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, scalable pipelines.
• Experience across ingestion to serving layers.
• Cloud-native data stacks experience.
• Production code in TypeScript or Python.
• Mentoring or guiding engineers.
• Located in SF Bay Area or willing to relocate.
• Healthcare data standards knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Scale data platform and ship data to customers quickly.
• Improve warehouse, data lake, and ETL/ELT architecture.
• Write Design Documents and ship v0 to v1.
• Support AI/ML efforts with data readiness.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and PRs.
• Participate in sprint planning and daily standups.
