Job summary

Gibson Dunn is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate data platforms powering enterprise reporting, analytics, and AI across the firm. You will manage data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouse architectures, and deliver model-ready datasets for analysts and ML workflows.

Based in the US, you will collaborate with data scientists and engineers, implement governance, and mentor junior data engineers to advance the firm’s data capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 10+ years building enterprise data platforms.
• Experience with data warehouses and data lakes.
• Strong communication across teams and stakeholders.
• Experience enabling AI/ML data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouse environments (on-premises and/or cloud).
• Develop and orchestrate reliable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and transform data.
• Implement layered data architectures (bronze/silver/gold) for reporting and AI workloads.
• Monitor pipelines for availability, timeliness, and data freshness.
• Establish data lineage, cataloging, and governance.
